We would probably get more risky, swashbuckling play if the players were playing for a pack of smokes and spare change, but if we want a big title then we have to accept the players treating that with reverence. In literally every game players are incentivized not to lose-the stakes here are much higher, but that's what you get when you have a world championship title on the line. They can't see thirty moves down the line of a strange move to find that it will certainly work in their favor. Their brain processing power is ultimately limited. That means sometimes being uncertain and afraid. so we have to accept that they're going to play like humans. But humans are not and will never be computers. We spectators are all home-bound geniuses with our little computers thinking we have all the right answers. Some things might be "objectively" better according to a computer, but they are not computers and will sometimes fail to push an edge because they can't see it working out or because it's going to require too much speculation to be practical.
